Public speaking and presentation coaching

Help people understand, remember and refer you – whether you’re presenting, pitching, networking or leading a workshop.

You know your subject

You may be a business owner, consultant, technical specialist or team leader.

You care about doing good work.

And you may have thought:

If I’m good enough, people will notice.

But here’s the uncomfortable truth:

You can be brilliant and still overlooked.

Good work doesn’t automatically shine through.

When you’re presenting, pitching or explaining complex ideas, people can only value what they understand.

And this has a real commercial impact.

If they don’t understand you, they’re far less likely to take action.

  • They don’t enquire
  • They don’t buy
  • They don’t refer

Great communication helps people:

Understand you

What you do, who you help and why it matters

Remember you

So you stay top of mind when opportunities arise

Refer you

So people know when  and why to recommend you

You don’t need to become someone you’re not. You don’t need to sound salesy, scripted or fake.

You need clarity, structure and practice.

Why clients work with me

Many speaking coaches focus heavily on delivery.

Delivery matters.

But strong delivery can’t rescue a confusing message.

My background in PR, copywriting and communication means I help with both:

What to say
and
How to say it

That combination is where real confidence comes from.

“Public speaking is for extroverts, right? Well, that was what I thought until Charlotte coached me.”

Conference Presentation Coaching

From “slightly bonkers” application to confident public speaker: how Emma Thompson developed and delivered a well-received conference talk.

You don’t need to become a different person to communicate well

You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room.

You don’t need to aim for perfection.

You need clarity, structure and practice.

If you’d like support with an upcoming talk, presentation or important conversation, I’d love to hear from you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be confident already?

No. Many of the people I work with don’t feel confident about public speaking – they simply have something important they want to say.

Confidence usually comes from clarity and practice, not personality.

We’ll work on both together, in a calm and practical way.

What if I’m introverted?

You don’t need to be extroverted to be good at public speaking.

In fact, I think the world needs a wider range of voices – not just the loudest ones.

I’m not here to turn you into someone you’re not.

We’ll work with your personality so you can develop a natural, authentic speaking style that suits you.

Is this about performance?

No. This isn’t about putting on a show or “acting confident”.

The focus is on getting clear about what you want to say, then learning how to deliver it in a way that feels comfortable for you and engaging for your audience.

Clarity first. Delivery second.

Do I have to enjoy public speaking?

No – not at the start.

Many people don’t enjoy public speaking initially.

But as you gain clarity, feel more prepared, and start to see the impact of your message, you may find it becomes easier – and sometimes even enjoyable.

There’s no pressure either way.

What if I don’t know what to say?

That’s very common – and completely workable.

It helps if you have a rough theme or topic in mind, but you don’t need a finished talk.

Before our first session, I’ll send you a short set of questions to help you clarify your ideas.

We’ll then shape those ideas into a clear message together.

Who is this 1-to-1 coaching best suited for?

This coaching works well for professionals, experts, and business owners who need to speak in meetings, presentations, or at events – and want to do so with clarity and confidence, without over-performing.

How do I know which option is right for me?

If you have a specific talk or presentation coming up and want clarity quickly, the 90-minute session is often enough.

If you’re preparing for a high-stakes presentation or want more time to develop your message and delivery, the Conference Prep VIP gives you the space to do that properly.
