Practical communication workshops for organisations

Designed around your group, your objectives and real situations.

Develop the skills to speak, connect and represent your organisation with confidence.

People miss opportunities when they hold back, struggle to explain what they do or feel uncomfortable entering conversations.

It’s often not because they aren’t capable. They simply haven’t been given the right guidance or, importantly, a safe opportunity to practise.

That’s where I can help.

My workshops are structured, practical and tailored to the people in the room.

I create a supportive, relaxed environment where participants feel comfortable joining in, trying something new and putting what they learn into practice. Because confidence is built through action.

I deliver workshops for:

  • Businesses and professional services firms
  • Local authorities
  • Universities and enterprise programmes
  • Chambers, business hubs and membership organisations
  • Not-for-profit organisations
  • Sixth forms, schools and academy trusts

What could we work on?

Every group is different.

A group of business owners attending a networking event will have different experiences and priorities from a university enterprise cohort, an internal leadership team or employees representing their organisation in public.

I’ll work with you to understand who will be in the room, the situations they face and what you would like them to do more confidently afterwards.

Your workshop might explore:

Building professional relationships

Helping people approach networking with greater confidence, start and leave conversations naturally, build genuine connections and follow up meaningfully.

Previous sessions have included Networking Done Right and Creating Opportunities Through Networking.

Explaining what you do

Helping participants introduce themselves and their organisation clearly, without feeling they have to say everything at once.

This could incorporate 60-second pitches, conversation starters, recognising when someone might need your services and becoming easier to understand, remember and refer.

Speaking and representing your organisation with confidence

Helping people communicate with confidence when presenting, contributing to meetings, hosting events or speaking on behalf of their organisation.

Sessions can support internal communication, public-facing roles, emerging leaders or experienced professionals who want to refresh and develop their skills.

These themes can be explored individually or combined to create a workshop around your audience, objectives and the real situations they face.

What you can expect when working with me

I’m here to make the process straightforward for you – not add another task to your list.

I’ve organised events myself, so I know how many details you’re already managing.

Before the workshop, we’ll discuss:

  • who will be in the room
  • what they currently find difficult
  • the situations in which they need to communicate more confidently
  • what you would like them to think, feel or do differently afterwards

I’ll use that information to shape the content, activities and examples around your audience.

I’ll arrive prepared, communicate clearly throughout the process and adapt calmly if something unexpected happens on the day. Because, as every event organiser knows, sometimes it does.

Public Speaking with Confidence

“I left energised, clearer in my approach, and ready to take this momentum into the New Year.

It was genuine rather than transactional – refreshing, inspiring, and exactly what I needed.

Networking Done Right

“Charlotte broke networking down into simple, practical steps that made complete sense. We even got to put some of it into practice, which made the learning stick. Today I learned how to quiet that noise and focus on genuine connection.

Jenny Steel

Training Manager, Steels Safety Training Solutions

Networking Done Right

“I did my pitch at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Start Up Club. It resonated so much with the people in the room. It got me an instant sale on a pull-up banner design and another potential client approached me afterwards.”

Louise Taylor

Owner, Studio74Design

Networking Skills workshop

“When you offer multiple technical services, it can be difficult to know how to introduce yourself at events. I’d been struggling with it for a while.

The workshop was fantastic. We focused on the real situations in which someone might need our services. Now I know what I want to say, and I have a framework I can use in future.

I recommended the workshop to my business partner straight afterwards.”

Chris Carter

Managing Director, VOiD Applications

60 Second Pitch and Intros workshop

“I realised I’d been putting too much pressure on myself. Now I feel much more at ease, even when there are people I don’t know. It’s taken the pressure off. I realised it’s a conversation starter, so it’s up to me how I use it.

I wish I’d done the workshop years ago.”

Frequently asked questions

How long are the workshops?

Workshops can range from a focused 60- or 90-minute session to a half-day, full-day or series of sessions.

I’ll recommend a format based on your audience, objectives and the amount of supported practice participants need.

Will the workshop be tailored to our organisation?

Yes. We’ll have a briefing conversation before the workshop so I can understand who will be attending, the situations they face and what you would like them to do more confidently afterwards.

I’ll use this to shape the content, examples and activities around your audience.

How many people can attend?

This depends on the type of workshop and the level of interaction you want.

Smaller groups allow more individual practice and feedback. Larger workshops can still be highly interactive, but the activities will need to be designed differently. We can discuss the right format for your group during our initial conversation.

Can you deliver workshops online?

Yes. Workshops can be delivered in person or online, depending on the audience and objectives.

Where do you deliver workshops?

I’m based in the West Midlands and can travel to deliver workshops in other parts of the UK. Any travel requirements and associated costs will be agreed before booking.

Can different communication topics be combined?

Yes. For example, a workshop on representing your organisation could combine confident introductions, professional conversations and speaking in front of a group.

Rather than expecting you to select an off-the-shelf package, I’ll help you identify the most useful focus for your participants.

Can I see examples of your work?

A TEDx talk is different from an interactive workshop, but you can get a flavour of my speaking style by watching If Your Life Were a Book, Is It a Story You’d Want to Read?, delivered at TEDx Wolverhampton in October 2022.

Looking for a communication workshop designed around your people?
