60 second pitch: love it or loath it?

Does any of this sound familar?

You know you’re excellent at what you do, but you never feel like your pitch does you justice.

You might stumble over your words. Or try to fit too much in (because you do so much).

Or your business has changed, and you’re not sure what to say anymore.

If the answer is “yes”, you’re in the right place.

Introducing yourself doesn’t have to be awkward or forgettable.

When you have the right framework, a warm and supportive environment, and the space to actually practise, you can feel confident.

This is exactly what the 60 Second Pitch & Intros Workshop is designed to be.

About the workshop

Most people struggle with networking intros not because they lack confidence, but because they’re trying to explain too much at once.

In this workshop, we’ll simplify and strengthen your introduction by focusing on:

  • who you help
  • the problems you solve
  • what makes your approach different
  • how to explain it in a way people remember and can easily refer

Instead of trying to explain everything you do, you’ll learn how to describe the situations and problems that make people think of you afterwards.

Through guided exercises, discussion and live practice, you’ll leave with a clearer, more natural introduction you can start using immediately.

It’s a small group setting (maximum 8 people) and relaxed environment, where you don’t have to feel the pressure of being perfect.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll not only feel clearer about your own introduction, but you’ll also understand and remember the other businesses in the room.

Better feedback than “that sounds good”

A good pitch and intro are strategic business development tools.

You want it to make sense. You want to be remembered. That’s when referrals happen.

So…

You’ll test your introduction with other attendees and get structured feedback based on four simple questions:

  • Who does this person help?
  • What situation would you need their help?
  • What would they help you achieve?
  • Can you think of someone who could benefit from an introduction?

This means you’ll quickly discover what’s clear, what’s memorable and what needs refining.

What you’ll leave with

  • a clearer introduction
  • intro and pitch frameworks you can reuse
  • a 60 second pitch that sounds like you
  • insights from peers
  • feedback on what’s memorable
  • increased confidence from practice, repetition and testing

“I did my pitch at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Start Up Club. OMG! It resonated so much with the people in the room. It got me an instant sale on a pull-up banner design and a lady approached me to see her 🙌 THANK YOU”

About Charlotte

Charlotte Davies smiling and sitting on a stool with a notebook

I’m the person you come to when you want  people to undestand what you do, remember you and refer you.

I’ve also been organising and attending networking events since 2016 – first as Development Manager at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, and more recently as the founder of Netwalk and Talk, a monthly netwalking event that’s been running since April 2024.

I know what it’s like to be in that room. I also know what makes pitches and introductions land and what makes it get forgotten.

My workshops are designed to be warm and welcoming, because I’ve seen that’s when people do their best work.

I’m a CELTA-qualified English teacher (ESOL) and have taught in Spain and Italy as well as the UK. I’ve studied French at degree level and Spanish as an adult. Understanding how people learn to communicate – and where they get stuck – is built into everything I do.

This is for you if:

  • You network regularly but never quite feel satisfied with what you say
  • You’re new to networking and want to feel confident from the get-go
  • You’re changing your focus and you want to try something new

Frequently asked questions

Where is the workshop?

The workshop is at Codsall Community HUB, South Staffordshire Council Offices,  Wolverhampton Road, Codsall, Wolverhampton, West Midlands WV8 1PX on Thursday 7 July, 9.30am – 11.30am.

Couldn't AI just write a pitch for me?

Yes. In seconds. But it’s a bit like asking your friend to do your homework. It won’t sound like you (unless it’s trained on your voice), and you won’t really know it.

Writing it yourself – and understanding the format – means you’ll feel more confident in the content and more likely to remember it when you’re standing up in a room of people.

I’m not anti-AI. I’ll share some prompts that can help you refine and edit your pitch once you’ve written it. But the thinking and the words? That part’s yours.

Do I need to have a pitch already written?

No. We’ll be starting from scratch.

If you have already written one, you’re welcome to bring it with you to work on.

Is this suitable if I've been networking for years?

Yes. Your experience will be useful to draw on when writing your pitch.

Will I have to speak in front of everyone?

You won’t be forced to do anything you don’t want to do.

However, I believe confidence comes from action. I aim to create a supportive environment where you’ll at least want to try.

What do I need to bring with me?

We’ll be working on your pitch during the session so you’ll need something to write on.

If you bring a laptop or device, please bring it with a charged battery as access to plugs are limited.

What should I wear?

There isn’t a dress code so please wear something you feel comfortable in. You may prefer to wear something that you normally network in to reflect a real event.

Is there free parking on site?

Yes. There is a carpark at Codsall Community HUB which can be accessed via Wolverhampton Road and Histons Hill.

Where should I go on arrival?

The workshop is taking place in Meeting Room 1 which is located near to the Information Desk.

What happens after I book?

You’ll get a confirmation email so you can add it to your calendar. I’ll send more details a few days before the workshop.

Are refreshments included?

There will be light refreshments available during the workshop.

Compton Care’s Crumbles Cafe is located at Codsall Community HUB if you want anything more substantial.

Networking event

Make new connections in beautiful scenery

Since April 2023, I’ve been running a monthly networking walk at the glorious Weston Park in Shropshire — a structured, relaxed event designed so that conversations feel natural, never performative. It’s one of my favourite parts of the month.
